Mobil FE 5W30

ASDA selling 5L for just £10.
Mobil FE 5W30 Semi-synthetic.

Full spec here http://www.mobil.com/Australia-English/ ... _5W-30.asp

Says it made for new Ford vehicles - whatever difference that makes - and is ok for petrol or diesel though doesn't state turbo's?

Handy engine oil......especially for winter use in fast petrol engines.

Supermarkets are now the place for oil bargains. My wife is on the lookout for me.

I told Millers Oils the other day that my wife can get cheaper oil in supermarket  ........and top brands.

It meets the Ford spec, in fact i bought this for my Transit when it was on offer last. I wouldnt use a 5w 30 in any pre-2000 Citroen though, its too thin and the engine was not designed for it.

I'd have though a 30 weight oil to thin for this country's climate. Unless specifically recommended by manufacturer.

All modern oils seem to say their good for both diesel & petrol, however the oil specifically designed for diesels have a higher detergent content to deal with the combustion by products of diesel.

Was using 10 /30 in old Hondas for years. If you can use a 10/40 in summer I don't see why a 5/30 could not be used in the winter we had last year.......not in old diesel engines mind.

I'm sticking it in mine, though only for a couple of thousand miles. Basically just to flush it. After that I'm treating it to some Total Quartz 9000 5w-40 Fully Synth.
