I have an itermittent fault, the temperature warning light and Stop light flash usually when I go over a bump or when we have damp weather.
I know it will be a bad connection but any pointers?
Thanks
good thinking Clogzz.. for some reason I thought my stop and temp lights were inseperable, i.e. they only ever come on at the same time.. to be honest I dont think I have ever seen them any other way, but I am a year older today and my memory is as bad as ever
No theres NO brown connectors on HDi engines!! Its all controlled from ONE Blue sensor on the side of the thermostat house... and is laid out completely different to the ole XUD as in Clogz Pic...
The lights are also triggered by faulty or loose connections in the "Relay House" between the cooling fans..
Drop the Fan cover off, and between the cooling fans theres a small triangular box, in there 3 relays, pop each one off and check the connections!!
I had this on a HDi and found the slow running relay had a slightly burnt connection, I butchered the plug fitted a new terminal, and problem solved!
Also have a look at the Level sensor in the water expansion tank, twist and lift to remove...
