Xantia tachometer stopped working after clutch change

Post by merlin617 »

Changed the clutch recently and the tacho stopped working. I looked in the BOL but cannot see any reference to it. seen other posts but no pictures for Xantia. Can anyone tell where the cable connects on the gearbox and location, picture would appreciated and what has caused this malfuction.

Thanks

Has the TDC sensor or it's wiring been disturbed?

I've found that these (even if they are removed and then re-fitted after the transmission is put back) tend to not last very long. :(

It's (as above) highly likely to be a dead TDC sensor, assuming its still plugged in.

The location is on the top of the bellhousing, usually has a grey wire on it. I cannot find a picture at the moment.

EDIT... Is your's petrol ? , I would of thought no TDC sensor on a petrol engine would result in no running, or at least the K light on.

XUD's will run without it working ( or missing! don't ask :D ) usually anyways
