Xantia brake caliper

Post by davethewheel »

one of the front calipers on my Xantia is sticking on its not the slider so i think it must be the piston, is it possible to buy a repair kit and does anyone have any idea of price cheers

I'd first clean it and flush the braking system with plenty of fresh LHM. You'll be surprised of the effect of fresh LHM inside a caliper. I used over 0.5 liter to flush one caliper on my BX, it was just about enough to get the black sludge out.

I had to get the kits from a dealer.
About £20 per side if I recall.
Contains everything you need and lots of bits for the parking brake mechanism that you probably don't need.
Instructions only printed in French though.
I found that having a syringe to apply LHM to the piston and seals lets you get it where it's needed without turning the brakes into an oil slick.
Bon chance.
