Followed an '09 one part way to Whitby and that wasn't going quick by any description, even with a fairly clear road and plenty of overtaking opportunity. Looked like a very rough ride - I don't think they fitted any springs to it at all.

Same thing on the return journey, stuck behind a 911 and a Z4 that must have been dragging anchors :(

So the AX didn't impress?
What about a 205van with 2.1TD lump vs a Honda Civic Type R?

I had seen the CTR one before, but lets make the weight of the car a bit more even:

Not bad for a 1.6 !

How do you know their weights? I would have thought the 2.1 lump would make it much heavier than the 1.6? The 1.6 pasted him, did he have any power adders or was it NASP?

Keeping up the drag race theme I found this very entertaining... a big rig vs a muscle car

I recall (a long time back) a tractor unit racing me off the lights and up the M4 ramp and passing me once we reached the top - when I had the CXGTi

wow all that unburnt diesel coming from the truck, you could probably run a Xantia 100 miles on that much diesel.
