A lot Malc...

The Xantia is an XU family engine... were as the Picasso is a TU or simmilar unit... completely different lumps!

Ooooops wrong again...

the Picasso DID feature XU engines, mainly the XU10 range..

The EW10 replaced the XU10... my guess is more modern fuel system.. but thats all I can tell you...This may help you malc: EW10

I do not think the Picasso had the XU at all...

Hi Malcolm, have you thought about asking Citroen? I have found them to be helpful with technical questions, if you get the right person. [-o<

I have not had a response back about the new short engine, so I'll chase it next week as I am waiting on some other parts.

What about rebuilding the current engine? At least then you will know it is good.

Malcolm, if you want to go down that route, just let me know, I'll give you a hand as I have built a few engines in the past. :cd:

I've got a modified & rebuilt 2.2L 16V twin-cam lump on the bench at the moment, awaiting a turbo manifold, but I think it might be a bit of a handful for the Picasso. :taz: Slightly different to an Austin A Srs donkey.
