temp light prob???

hi, I have got a 2.0 hdi xantia x reg with 205,000 on the clock. Starts first time every tme but last few days I notice the temp and "stop" light both flashing together.I checked the coolant and topped up,It took roughly a pint of water,but it's still happening...Is this anything to worry about?? cheers......deano
