my wife cant open tail gate on clio central locking works but cant get in boot
any ideas?

I assume it does not have a manual button etc or cable release ? , I would guess its solenoid controlled, which is good in theory until this happens.

What you will probably need to do is fold down the rear seat and then remove the trim from inside the hatch lid (working from inside the boot area) and then see why. You will be able to release it that way, with a bit of luck it will only be the solenoid that's failed.

It's probably worth leaving the trim off until you are ready to replace etc as its likely to be a bit fiddly to do with the hatch shut and working from the inside anyway.

just to add a quick note if you replace the lock ( and this sounds like the problem ) and in a few weeks or months it goes again you have a fault with the uch as these cars suffer with the uch knocking out the boot lock....

its the main computor for the vehicle located behind the glove box..
