Xantia Black Box

When removing the suspension lever surrounding in order to clean it on my 1994 Xantia TD VSX, I discovered a black box ECU situated next to the handbrake under the centre console with two multiplugs entering into it. Does anyone know what it for? My curiosity is getting the better of me!

I beleive this is the alarm ECU.

my alarm box is behnd the right hand footwell trim. Don't know about the Xantia, but on the BX the central door locking control unit is in that location.

Hi thanks a lot it is definately it.I was seeking for situation of central door locking unit for a long while in order to solve problem with interior lights. It have never switched on when door opened and i saw at electrical scheme that interior lights door microswitches are connected to the unit.So after having read this post i looked near the handbrake under the window switches cover and there were two wires cutted so i connected them and finally it lights as it have to be.
