Silly question really, but what's the concensus about renewing the pollen filter? Dunno when last done, but certainly not since I've had the car (16000miles ago).
No-one who goes in the car has any asthma problems etc.
Do you notice any difference to the heater blower etc when a new pollen filter is fitted?

If its the same as Peugeot's schedule it will be to check (and change if needed) at every lubrication service, or it was when I was there a few years ago
After 16K though its likely to be in need of changing, they are quite effective at collecting all manner of particles and dusty bits.

I agree with Spider.
And stay away from cheapy after market filters. Bought one of those and had steamy windows / a cold cabin during winter and practically no air-conditioning during the summer till I replaced the damn thing with one bought from Citroen. You might find a decent non-Citroen part but be careful.

I would guess the same place as a 406 (although someone with a Xantia will be able to say for sure obviously) , on a 406 its under the nearside scuttle panel. It does come out without removing wiper arms, sort of unclips and moves enough to get at the filter.DHallworth wrote:Where is the pollen filter located on the Xantia?

On the Xantia (UK) it is under the glove box/ above the passenger's feet. Remove the carpet/trim which is under the dash to reveal the heater fan and pollen filter housing. The cover slides to one side to disengage the lugs before it can be pulled down. The pollen filter then slides out. 10 min job (honest)
Definately worth getting a good filter.

Pollen filter
Hi rmunns
Change it.........as it filters out the pollen it also filters dust and all the other "stuff" so it cloggs up, your blower will run hotter (it needs the air flow to cool it) also if you have A/C this will be less efficiant run longer and cost you more fuel, do not take it out and not replace it as all the "stuff" will end up on the evaporator and the car willl start to stink, if its an oem filter you can carerfuly wash it and I mean carefull, allow to dry and refit, it will not last as long before it needs changing but it will last a while and save you money, rory is correct its only a 10 /15 min job.
