peugeot 306 coolant

Unread post by froggy »

Hi , My wife"s 306 [petrol ] has got " radweld " in the radiator to stop the leaking heater matrix . I now need to replace the coolant . Whoops ! Can I now drain the old coolant and replace with fresh antifreeze , but still keep the rad weld ?
Any help , advice will be greatfully received .
Cheers Terry .

If I'm thinking of the same Radweld as you, it will only be a liquid which solidifies upon reaching the open air at the leak point. Certainly change the coolant but you'll need to buy more Radweld to continue the 'treatment'.

Rather than Radweld, which will clog the matrix eventually, use Forte StopLeak.

or even Kseal which definatly can be used with antifreeze/coolant,

or fit a new matrix
