I have just looked at a hydractive v6 for someone, and replaced a few spheres, but cant understand why when the electovalves kick in the car will jerk up then settle back down, both at front and back.
Does anyone have any ideas? the lexia throws up no suspension faults.
Cheers

Well I find my Activa does it when I park up, put the car in service low, and turn the engine off, letting the car sink after I'm out of the car and the doors are locked.
The problem with this is, after 30 seconds the electrovalves turn off, closing off the hydractive circuit, so this circuit stays pressurised, but the rest of the system depressurises. So when you open the door, and the hydractive electrovalves open, the pressure inside the hydractive system makes the car jump slightly.

Re: Jerky suspension?
Dave, is this when the car is coming down from high setting or on hard/soft switching when at normal ride height?davetherave wrote:I have just looked at a hydractive v6 for someone, and replaced a few spheres, but cant understand why when the electovalves kick in the car will jerk up then settle back down, both at front and back.

Is it a MK1 or MK2? The last question is significant...

OK, that's good. Its quite normal for a MK1 Hydractive Xantia to show this behaviour when descending from high to low. All mine do and it's nothing to worry about so long as every otheraspect works fine.davetherave wrote:Its a mk1,
No idea why it does it; it just does....
