My new mota, renault 5 1.7 ohc monaco
The guy who came to buy my xm turned up in this and after much conversation we had a straight swap as i didnt really need the money anymore, i know some of you citroen buffs will say im mad but its in great condition with 66k miles and the same tax and test the xm had, also as it weighs a mere 755kg with 94bhp it really shifts with a modified exhaust system, beige interior with leather seats, electric windows and removable sunroof and above all its great fun, and since this looks like a citroen gallery this will break it up a bit!!

You are a very lucky man there Marty.
They are rarer than a ph1 GTT!
Looks amazing. Always hankered after one as the torque on them apparently feels great and compares well with the 1.4 twin downdraught carb as fitted only to the 1.4 auto... hmm was looking recently at some on fleabay. the only rarer ones are campus models with CAT's and the 1.6 diesels...

What an awesome little "5" I remember the Renault 5 Monacotim leech wrote:Im more a Citroën man but always liked specced up small cars and thats proper rare, would LOVE a 25 monaco, good save! Just need a wheel centre now!
Tim one of my first and best real car memories is being a passenger in the back of a Renault 25 monaco It was one of my mates at school's dads car. He was a designer so always had flash saloon cars. I travelled from Lancaster to Windermere in it...I remember sitting in the back and thinking awesome comfy beige leather and a huge dash binnacle...They stretched almost across to the passenger side
Renault 5's now are quite hard to come by especially in Monaco spec with low mileage.....this could be quite a sought after car soon
Great swap

That looks very mint, just look at that interior! Ive never seen that in an R5 before. Not wure if id have swapped the Xm for it but its certainly going to be a different driving experience.
I was following the Xm in Darlington just after you sold it, what are the chances. Looked very tidy, i hope its getting looked after.

I was origionally selling the xm for the money and cos i found it a bit boring to be honest, had it been a turbo or a v6 it would still be here. Then i was gonna look for an activa with the cash but the guy turned up in it and after a test drive i was hooked

I did think that with a V6 406 and a previous TCT XM that you might be. You seem to have a very nice R5 though and the Xm has found another home.
