Which radio?

Hi,

I have a late pre-facelift C5 (2004 04) and am wanting to fit an Ipod adapter. trawling through posts, it seems that the Connects2 range will do the job. However, there are two listed on their website for my car - one of the Clarion radio and one for the Blaupunkt radio. Unfortunately I'm not with my car at the moment so can't pull the unit to look. Does anyone know which it's liable to be?

The installed unit has a single cd slot and the associated display does not include satnav, if that's relevant.

Having looked at a few units on Ebay, I've come to the conclusion that it's probably a Clarion unit. Fingers crossed!

I have a late 03 reg which is a Clarion Unit
so i would go with that choice too

kit arrived - fitted in 15 mins including tidying up and tying the wires (dead easy!!). works fine! Well chuffed

is the radio easy to remove? my CD appears to have packed up so I was going to have a quick look inside

Yes, just slide a thin screwdriver or knife under the bottom edge of the triangular-ish trim panel surrounding the switch on the right side of the radio (central locking switch) and lever the panel out. (it is hinged to the top of the radio and will lift out and up).

Just below the hinge is a screw (one of the star type things so beloved of citroen....) Remove this screw.

Do the same with trim panel on the left side of the radio and remove the screw from there. The radio will now pull out ok!

Many thanks, worked a treat. Had a quick look inside and the disc isn't spinning so will have to have a more detailed fiddle some time

Hi,
I have been having similar thoughts to putting in an adapter. My C5 is a 2001 with a Clarion head unit. All the adapters online say its for an RD3 unit, which looks the same as mine but mine says RD2 on the top. I dont suppose you remember seeing what model yours was, as if it is a RD2 and it works i'll be getting one too! the other code for mine says 2295B(H) whatever that means...
