FAP / DPF / filter on ebay - any good

Anybody got any experience of the 150 - 200 quid particulate filters off Ebay ? Mine still shows 'unblock filter' despite a couple of regeneration runs along the dual carriageway at 4k. The MPG is still quite low too. We're off on holiday at the end of next week, so it's time to sort it, and the 150-200 quid cost will be offset against the mpg saving at this rate !

Remove it if you can undo the bolts and steam clean the filter out!! ITs the ONLY way to clean it up!

I got one off ebay a few weeks ago (£149 inc postage), and apart from a few fitting problems seems ok. Take a good look at yours if you buy it to make sure all is square (ie the sensor connection).
Didnt improve my MPG though, still around the 32mpg mark (mostly just commuting to work)

Amazing all this electronic stuff! I know its more for emmisions etc, but my 1991 H reg, XM 2.1 TD, gives me around 45mpg!!!! And doesn't give out much smoke either, ive seen lots of newer cars giving more out!
