Quicky - Is there any handbrake adjustment at the (cabin), lever end?
Car rolled back for the mrs when she put the clutch in,with the handbrake fully on,(I'd left it on a slight slant,in gear).
Like I say,it was definately fully on,top 4 clicks, wouldn't go any higher, cold brake disks as well.. Tested it and it's cr@p.
Waiting for these summer storms to pass, lashing it down so I know I'll be getting friendly with the front calliper ends, just wondering if there's a quick 'nip up' of the cable.
Cheers, Dave.

you should not adjust cables before making sure the calippers are adjusted up,
otherwise all you will acheave is a lower hand brake leaver but not morre effort at the pads,

as its not the cable that adjusts in doing this, but just the self adjusting mechanisum/s in the calippers,
which in turn can reduce's the travle at the leaver,
the calippers are ment to adjust up in normal use, but usualy dont,

If the handbrake is coming right up near vertical, then one (or more) of the cables is knackered. A Xantia handbrake, once adjusted by standing on the brakes, should be hard on at the 2nd or 3rd click. Replacing the cables is not the nightmare job that it seems at first! Note that as yours is a 110HDi, Dave, you need a different, longer NS cable which accounts for the different gearbox.

Recently replaced the cables on Cassy, and now her lever needs to come up quite far whereas before it gripped after the first couple of clicks.
I did notice that the replacement NS cable was slightly longer than the one that came off.
Replacement cables were from GSF where they only list one for each side.
Any ideas?
Trying to remember if there was any adjuster under the centre console when I took Juliet's off to do the matrix.
