Ride height by a rule of thumb (or finger  ) can be checked thus:

At the front you should be able to insert three fingers between the top of the tyre and the wheelarch lip. At the rear one finger should fit.

That assumes average fingers

Ride height is critical to good ride comfort.

thanks for that, the back wheel arch is just lower than top of tyre and the front is four and a half fingers above wheel. Is it best to adjust front then back or back then front even if the results should end up the same  .
should make this a sticky and other citroens also added.

I've posted photos before, of an unmolested car that's at running height. Can't remember the thread but the photos had "haut arriere" and "haut avant" in their names, from memory.

you need to make 200% sure all the turrets at both front and rear H/C's are fully free, before you adjust anything,

you cant check there free movement properly without removeing them from the car,

its not the H/C itself that seizes, its the two turrets attatched to the H/C mountting brackets that seize,

In addition to Malcolm, also check for play in the turrets. Everything should move smoothly but with no wiggles.
