Xantia heater control

Post by RichardW »

Anybody know if it is possible to adjust the heat control cable on a Xantia? I am pretty sure that ours is not shutting the heat off totally. The book of lies is not clear whether adjustment is possible, but it does indicate (ha?!) that the cables can be removed with the heater unit in-situ.

you should be able to adjust the cable slightly by repositioning the outer cable position. It is held in place by a simple clip. The temperature control is a little difficult to get at because it is underneath the control block, but not too bad really. A torch and a mirror would be useful so you can check the layout before you do it.

I found that the recirculating control was not operating the vent, it ended up being a kink in the cable. After taking out the radio and surround, I undid the screws holding the controls, its lifts up and pulls out about 2" max, but you can then prise off the top and can get at the cables, just. Hope this is of help.
