Hi everyone does anyone know if on a 406 it's possible that a siemans fuel filter case is fitted but the fuel sytem is Bosch ? I've just bought a 2003 406 rapier hdi 110 and I was going to change all filters but the guy in the local parts place put in my REg no. to find correct fuel filter and of course it's the wrong filter
Thanks regards john

From memory there's a choice of two types.
All you need to do is get the correct one
Again from memory, the 'later' type has the green plug on top (the earlier one does not have an electrical plug I think) , this one you need to unbolt and take to the bench to change the filter. You can do it in situ but its ten times easier to take the two 10mm nuts / bolts off and take it off.
Tip for after fitment:
When its all connected back up, ensure the pipes are on properly obviously
Do not crank the engine! , switch ignition on , wait about 5 seconds , turn it off, wait about 10 seconds , turn it back on again. Repeat three times.
Finally start as normal. This is assuming you do not have a primer hand pump fitted and will save time with problems with no fuel pressure. I always used to do that anyway to ensure they started OK.

Yeah thanks spider , I know the Bosch filter head has only 2 pipes , mines got 3 like the Siemans , I was just wondering why they would fit a Siemans filter to a Bosch fuel system ? unless the previous owner did that
cheers anyway
