Xantia Rear Bump Stops

Unread post by landcrab »

At my recent MOT the garage said the rear bump stops on my 1999 Xantia 1.8 16v Estate were badly warn.Apparently this is not an an MOT failure or even an advisory!
What kind of a job is it to replace them and at what cost?

Any help would be gratefully received

Just had a look on the citroen servicebox and they are roughly £21 each. I wouldn't know if anywhere else sells them though!

No problem, the part number for your car should be 5166 55. Let me know how difficult they are to change as mine are a bit knackered too!

Thanks, Dom.

Just had a look at the bump stops on the 1.9TD and they look like they are falling to bits... what causes it? because i'm sure the only time they are in use is during citrobotics.

They just seem to deteriorate

Easy enough to swap though. They are just attached to the subframe by plastic "fir trees" on the end of the bump stop moulding
