Is there anything that i can likely service in the unit to get it back to life as its a very usefull tool and would be great for electrical stuff related to the car or to sell on and fund more car bits

I have one of thee from my days at Telewest and BT but for some reason i can not get it to work when i put a new battery in it
Is there anything that i can likely service in the unit to get it back to life as its a very usefull tool and would be great for electrical stuff related to the car or to sell on and fund more car bits
