206 hdi engine management light

Post by glynn »

Hi Folks,

Had a bit of trouble with our 206 1.4hdi after doing its service, did fuel filter but air was getting in system, thats been sorted now but whilst it was happening engine management light came on due to ropey running. What i'm after is advice on how to turn off the management light. Any ideas please.

It may go out after disconnecting the battery for a while.
Note that there is a bit of a procedure for this on a lot of PSA cars. Turn off ignition and wait 15 minutes before disconnecting so the ECU stores everything - as with satnav which can be completely cabbaged if this isn't done.
On reconnection, wait five minutes before turning the key.

Alternatively, if you are near to someone with a code reader, they may be able to clear it for you.

Lexia may work but the Diag 2000 is the one specific to Puegeots.
