zx rear axle

Post by tony1961 »

i have an 1996 zx 1.9d estate.
i have been looking round the scrappers today,
is the pug 306 the same type ? the people at the yard say it is.
this particular axle has got discs, mine has drums, is it compatable to take the discs etc and fit the drums of mine. the reason iam asking is that the axle tube looks fairly new compared to the arms with no rust on it at all.
thanks kind regards tony

Hi Tony,

As the ZX and 306 are the same car essentially as far as suspension goes, yes I reckon they should swap.

What will not swap though is discs and drums; the stub axles are different :(

Try to get an axle from roughly the same model of car as the spring rates and ARB stiffness varied considerably across the range to cope with different engines and levels of sportiness.
