Wheel sizes

Post by MikeT »

Does anyone know their wheel sizes etc? I don't suppose there's the slightest chance a set of Pug 4007 alloys would fit my Xantia?

Very much doubt it to be honest mike.

The newer C5 wheels don't fit onto a xantia as the centre hole is too small :(

the Xantia ones have the correct PCD and centre hole wide enough to fit the C5's though as my dad is running on an old set of xantia boots.

The rims are a LOT heavier than c5's though.

No worries :)

I've also wanted to fit C2 GT alloys to my xantia when my mum gets rid of hers but will have to get the centre holes widened a bit without being too much for the centre cap to come out....

No, not if you retain the correct existing radius of the whole wheel by
compensating with the sidewall section of tyre by raising/dropping a size
getting the measure right again. Or you have to live with the known
%age difference for the sake of aesthetics and make a running mental
calculation of the true speed whenever a safety camera or plod approach!

There was a Xantia for sale a while ago, a very nice 2.0HDi in silver, wearing Xsara Picasso Exclusive wheels. It really did look spot on in my opinion, though i imagine they use the same size tyres as the Xantias.

There is also a nice grey Xantia HDi on autotrader at the mo, wearing Xsara Desire wheels. So there are some other wheels which will fit and look good on Xantias if you want a change.

I very much doubt that 4007 wheels will fit a Xantia though.

Model PCD Offset Bore

C5 4x108 15 to 25 65.1

Xantia 4x108 15 to 20 65.1

Peugeot 405, 406 4 x 108 15...22 65.0

Peugeot 306 4 x 108 15...22 65.0

Peugeot 307 4 x 108 25 65.0

Focus 4x108 38 to 45 63.4

i be fairly sure that the 4007 is 5 stud

the reason that Xantia wheels are heavier than c5 wheels is that c5 wheels are alloy or aluminum or something like that

The centre bore sizing is quite important as thats what keeps you're wheels central on the hub and stops it riding along like a wobbley car like one of those things from the circus? Ie fords are size pcd 108 as pug/cit. offsets ok but bore sizes is alot diff pugs fit fords but not other way round. But don't sit central on hub unless you jacked it up and sets ages slowly spinning it round till you got it near right? but then it can still move on studs after you have driven it.

Plus i'd never try boring them out to fit as they'd be quite often after no good for any if you want to get shot of plus some of the alloy's have like a case hardening which you'd go through so left with a softer hole that can open out. ive seen it happen with bolt holes before and dealt with them comming a drift on the road.

But as mentioned if you go if you go up a rim size you need to go down a profile or 2 plus adjust with the width.

Zanty estates etc if you go 195/65/15 the speedo's about bang

if you were to get a set of aftermarket wheels from a ford or a multi fit set you can change the ring that goes in the middle for one with the same bore as the citroen, but there are a lot of peugeots and citroens in the breakers with alloys so it shouldn't be too hard to find a set that will just bolt on.
