Following a fault with the aircon, I examined a suggestion from Dom that the cooling fan is faulty. That appears to be the case - the Lexia actuation tests don't start it, and I've never seen it run with the aircon on. I'm a bit surprised that the aircon runs at all to be honest - I thought a standard requirement for the aircon to start is that the fan runs.
Does anyone have any experience with the fans on a C3? The command to start it is there, the Lexia even shows it to be running (there is a commanded parameter, and a speed parameter which slowed to 0% when the command was switched off, but the fan didn't move.
Does anyone know which the fan control relay is? The manual helpfully suggests that it's left to a Citroen dealer. (As an aside, I noticed the air intake hose was floating on it's own, not being connected to the corner that takes the air into the airbox. The clip on said corner was completely knackered, and the corner was resting on a pipe beneath where it should sit. I'm guessing this wouldn't have been disturbed since the last service, which was at a Citroen dealer...).
I don't imagine this will be a biggie to fix, and we got the car for a good price. I'm guessing it's a new relay or a new fan. Any advice / ideas appreciated, before it goes to my usual garage.
On a plus point, I'm delighted with the ability of my Chinese Lexia to look into a MUX car!
