Citroen C5 radio fault

Unread post by howardaskew »

The radio goes to full volume by itself! Intermittent annoying fault.

Any ideas?

With World Cup coming up I need to fix it.

Could it be a fault on the remote control on steering column?

Many thanks or any help.

I believe that the radio volume is meant to increase (fairly subtly) as the engine speed increases.
It's possible that this sofware 'mechanism' is corrupted.
Might be worth doing a system reset.

thank you for the prompt reply.

How may I perform a software reset?

Search then forum for exact instructions to avoid potential problems, but in principle, disconnect the battery, wait a bit, and reconnect :)

You can turn off the 'auto volume increase' function. It should be an option in the list of Bass, Treble, Loudness on/off and then Auto volume adjust on/off.

Try turning it off and see if it makes a difference.

Another thing it might be are TA (traffic anouncements). The volume of these can be set high so try turning TA to off.
