C5 Rear Calipers

I had the dreaded Caliper corrosion issue.
Managed to remove the caliper however the bolts are stuck. I don't have vice and bench or a press.

Any ideas of anyone who can help remove the bolts in the maidstone or medway areas of Kent?

I plan to swap calipers over left and right to use the uncorroded clean face.

I will use new bolts as they are only £2.21p each.

Any help would be appreciated as no work currently and money is tight.

I will willingly pay to have bolts removed.

Im not sure what you mean swap them left to right?

Do you mean you plan on swapping the caliper from the right of the car to the left and viceversa? If so they are sided and only fit one side.

So the bolts are stuck in the caliper but you have got the caliper off?

They don't look sided compenents.

They appear to be able to be reversed by changing over the bleed screw position with the brake pipe.

The bolts are a tight fit into the alumnium caliper and I wish to remove the bolts from the caliper.

Do you have a suitable press please? :?:

Yes, ive just thought there, i think they can be swapped over from side to side. :?

Im not sure how you would get the bolts out, have you tried soaking it in penetrating dluid and working the bolts to see if they come free?

Some caliper bolts have thread lock.

Thank you for the pictures. I notice that you are removing the bolts whilst caliper is on the car.

I am trying to remove the bolts whilst caliper is off the car. The steel bolt is a relatively tight fit to the hole in the aluminium caliper.
Never a good idea.

I have tried WD 40 and lots of heat. Now soaking in Duck Oil.

Will try lots more heat later. Nothing to lose except more money.

If Citroen had designed the bolt to be thinner than the threaded part and fitted a gasket between the aluminium caliper and the Steel arm the corrosion would never have happened or to be an issue.

I expect I will end up buying a new caliper or two.
