I presume that most of the "woodwork" is aftermarket?

Very nice, more in keeping with the style of the car. I doubt this is plastic, more likely wood veneer, sealed with a good quality urethane varnish. You do not get this bright effect with plastic foils.

One of my Activas and my CX are both fitted with stylish wood veneer trims, not only around the dash areas but also on the door cappings and other relevant areas. I still have all the patterns if anybody wants a set and can source most burr veneers, including walnut, oak and birdseye maple. Please contact me off line.

Very expensive, upmarket cars still use this form of trimming, like Lexus, Mercedes, Rolls Royce and Bentley, to name a few.

Not like the nice tacky plastic of the standard cars.

None of that has ever even seen a tree!

My Citroen AX came with that trim fitted, its the only one I had seen with it. I very quickly removed it, looked awful.

I think it must be a Citroen accessory? As its quite a neat fit. My AXs trim looked perfect and was shaped around the contours just like that one.

I don't know why the bother with veneers when they could just make it from a nice solid bit of wood instead

Dont like it to be honest. the only thing i would change on mine is making it look a tiny bit more glossy rather than a matt type effect.

Hi KP, solid wood in these small cross-sections, especially as a burr, is not very stable and given the cabin conditions in most cars, it would have a very hard life. Veneers, when well bonded to a sound substrate and sealed from the environment, offer a much better option for longevity.

I have this on my VSX, it is plastic and doesn't look that nice as it's pealing off in places,
I'd remove it but it will leave all the glue behind.

its defenatly a different shade and look to the " Standard " Exclusive stuff in S2 cars..

Im not a fan really, however, the stuff used in XM's Series Ones is different, and looks extreamilly real and has a better effect..

I like the stitched leather footrest.

If you're going to go retro wood, a row of Jag-style nickel plated toggles is the only way to accompany it.

Sometimes I still try to change gears by grasping the blinker stalk...

I can't say as I've ever fitted an (citroen) 'accessory' kit like this on a xantia but I've certainly done them on (xsara) Picasso's, they also come in 'Kevlar' look too.

Looks like a neat job.. bit shiney perhaps and I would think a darker shade would look nicer. What model is it? Looks like half leather seats and Activa wheels, but Auto and no cover over the radio!!!

Its a Mk1 Exclusive V6, but with added bling. The wheels have probably been changed. It also has the Citroen reflective rear number plate surround, which does not go well with the colour scheme.

OK.. but what about the half leather, and I'm sure my S1 V6 had the 'flap' over the radio!!
