Popped into Andyspares sorry GSF at Heathrow hoping to purchase a cylinder for my Xantia 1.9TD model 1993, L reg. Imagine my surprise to find out that despite their catalogue showing an entry relating to Xantia, they did not stock cylinderhead for my particular model [:0].
Does any one know where I could source replacement Cylinderhead for the 1993 Xantia TDs.
Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks

Might be worth trying Andyspares/GSF Reading as that branch seems to specialise in Citroens. My local branch seemed to think that the only Citroen ever made was the 2CV and didn't think that they were part of a larger group which specialised in Citroens. Not surprising really as I think that branch was decended from VW specialists.

Some GSF branches don't seem to have embraced the "French" bit yet - the Manchester branch still answer the phone "German and Sweedish". That said they do seem to stock fast moving parts - Manchester always have service bits and they had a rocker cover gasket I went for yesterday.
When I need a fair amount of bits I order them direct from Andyspares becuase its more conveinient by mail order, they stock the more specialist bits for Cits and they provide this forum!
If I were you I'd ring Andyspares in Reading direct and see if they can help.

I'd have to agree on this too: as with many retail/supply organisations, replies to enquiries depend entirely on the individual member of staff you talk to, and the Reading Andyspares branch know the parts + vehicles much better.
My local branch (originally VW specialists) became much more useful when they moved into larger new premises and started to keep more Citroen items in stock. Since then I can actually see some parts in front of me + assess their suitability before parting with my money.

I gather that you've spoken to my colleague John, and he's sorted out that you need our ref N01020 for your Xantia TD.
Heathrow got confused because our description describes this head as being for cars with a vacuum pump, which the Xantia TD does not have.
It is however the correct head. On the xantia TD there is a blanking cover held on by 2x 13mm headed bolts with blanks off the end of the head where the vacuum pump would be on a ZX .
Hope that this clarifies the matter.

Thanks to every one for their help. Many thanks indeed to John at Andyspares Reading who sorted out the confusion. I have now purchased the cylinder head from GSF Heathrow and I am in the process of finsihing the job off.
I have discovered however that the camshaft on the new cylindr head is slightly longer at the gearbox end than on the original unit, having removed the oilseal it is still not possible to use the original blanking cover. For the moment I will carry on with the rebuild. Later on I intend hacking off the excess and cover it with the original blanking plate.
Thanks to folks at Andyspares once again.
