Hi All,
I'm new to the Renault side but getting used to fixing French cars after owning a Cit and a Pug.
The wife has joined the fold now with a 2000 Megane RT auto (1.6 16v).
Every now and then the auto box warning light flashes for less than a second then goes out in a fairly random pattern.
Speed and gear don't seem to influence it.
Any clues?
I'm hoping that changing the gearbox oil might sort it but as yet haven't bought a manual for the car so don't know what to expect.
The car only has 53k on it and has only done 20k in the last 7 years.
Any help is always appreciated.
Cheers,
Steve

Re: Auto box warning light
if its a DPO box then yes try change the oil but if this does not work the fault may lye with the EVM valve as these boxes suffer from this problem, also though when you change the oil check its not black insted of the redish colour it should be, it could mean the plates in the box are breaking up and the box will have to be replaced..stevenlizuk wrote:Hi All,

Thanks for the info.
I'll investigate as soon as the summer is over and it stops raining here!
