Anyone got a ball park figure what they paid for the centre exhaust section on V6 Xantia.
It is part 1717 78. Dealer price is silly. I need a guide to compare price I will be quoted. GSF don't do it but I know a place that will mail order.

Lexi,
Try this mob, Online Automotive
I used them last year for a V6 back and centre. Xac also bought an Activa system from them.
Top job.. Well recommended.
Get new clamps too as they rust beyond re-use.

I used online auto aswell, for the XM TCT Onyx Turbo, centre, sideways pipe, but the clamps they reccomended werethe wrong size!!
But the pipes are all on and fitted... well, OK..
They've sealed ok too without paste, so will need to do the joints again with paste to seal perfectly..

Just had a look now, 68 quid plus.. for the central part, it has a bit of pipe on it too.. going to the rear box..
So the Xantia system is a 3 piece, Front pipe / Cat, centre box to rear box and back box..

Just to update this .
I phoned Chester Exhausts who matched the best price I had seen. Next day delivery and with the two clamps was £93. Quite good. So what did we get for our money?
Mmm. Certainly not a Bosal . Made by Klarius. I believe they are part of Arvin Meritor? Other makes in that group are Timax. Iwas going on to a back box with Arvin written on it so thought it might mate up well with them being same group of companys. Didn't happen.
Had to remove back box to get the flanges together and then make new hangers as no way would they go back on to original position.
Ihad just had a chat with the mechanics in my mates Mot station. They warned me that Arvin Meritor stuff was poor fit and that Bosal was by far the best. This Klarius box had pipes that were 4mm smaller in dia than the one I took off. That is something worth checking before buying I think next time.
So......much wiser after the event. It's working ok with no leaks mind you. Maybe the quality is ok.........you can't buy the cheapest box and also get the best I suppose.

That's a shame Lexi. It used to be murder getting pattern 205 systems to fit years back...
You'd have thought they'd cracked that by now.. It's a bit bloody annoying, especially after shelling out nearly £100
Must say the system I bought from Online Automotive fitted like a glove.

You know yourself Jim.........you can re -hang the exhaust but care must be taken to avoid any strain or it will not last the proper length of time. I do wonder about all these different exhaust bits replaced on the V6 along with our old Cats,............I bet we are losing a little power on our original 194bhp.
Yes 3" straight through exhaust and a K&N should see a few more Chavs off
What make were the boxes from that mob Jim?

I honestly can't recall now lexi. Not one of the well-known firms. I fancy it had a foreign sort of name if you know what I mean...lexi wrote: What make were the boxes from that mob Jim?
I bought but have not used the centre section yet. That's deep in my stash. Next time I'm in there I'll have a look...
