Part ex or not
Just decided to change my Xantia 2.1 td for a Xsara 110 HDI
The garage have offered £100 px on my Xantia.
It has a few problems at the minute, split expansion tank and the fans don't work correctly.
Its scruffy inside and hasn't seen a bucket off water for a while
It does have 10 months MOT , new disks 5000 mile ago, new tyres and backbox and is mechanically sound (160000 mile without any problems)
Should I take the £100 or weight it in at scrap yard or is it worth breaking?
Your thoughts please
cheers

The way scrap prices are atm you will get around £120 for weighing it in, but you will get £250 no probs on the open market for a car with T+T so long as it is driveable, im sure someone here would have it for that sort of money if the body is rust and dent free, breaking would see the best return but involves a bit of work and having the carcass hanging around for weeks or even months while you wait for buyers.

Make me an offer and its yours.Dommo wrote:I want a 2.1TD for a potential donor car to swap the engine into my Activa!
If you're interested in letting me do something with it please let me know, but I may just keep the 2.1 as it is to be honest and use that instead.
Still drives fine, just need the water topping up now and again
