apparently the new C5's have Daytime Running Lights fitted but not activated, anyone done this yet ? guy on ebay selling a wiring loom for £15 that activates them

to change the DRL bulb to an LED type you have to remove the bumper though...

My C5 is a MkII and I've recently changed my sidelights to LED and Yes! I had to take the bumper off.

what kind of LEDs did you use , CANBUS ones that don't give warnings ?

hdi_man has the new germanic C5 III which will be different from the facelifted C5 II.

Dont know about the running lights, is it not just a option on a lexia?

Dont like day time running lights myself.

DTL should be an option from the configuration menu via the on board computer

Nope the option is not given to enable them on the UK C5 menu.

Bought that myself and have it fitted. Took me 5 minutes but I am an electrical engineer. It's a simple job, one fuse to replace and one wire to scotch lock onto the DRL lights wire behind the headlight.
I actually located the correct wire down by the battery and scotch locked it there as it's now invisible.

DRL's now come on with the ignition but they stay on when the headlights are which they wouldn't do if the menu was enabled.

I've been looking to replace the halogen HP24 bulb with an LED bulb but I've only been able to find a French forum with the info and my French isn't good. It looks like they are saying a 12V G4 LED will fit so I may have a look.

cheers Lee sounds good mod. let me know if you find suitable LEDs. someone on here used the Audi LED strip LEDs on the older C5's not sure I want that look though.

So long as they are not like the Audis which make the car squint every time the indicator is on

When they've been switched off, they continue to shine for 3 or 4 minutes.

The new C5 has a standard 5W sidelight bulb situated in the high beam unit, the high beam unit in the innermost reflector with a H1 bulb. The dip beam unit uses a H7 bulb and then right at the far outermost of the headlights is another H7 bulb and small reflector for the corner lighting.

Under the headlight unit is the DRL which Citroen describe as having a HD24 bulb. I believe this is a two pronged type capsule halogen bulb.

The foglights in the lower bumper are H3's. The indicators are next to the foglights.

Maybe there were changes made to the menus but the DRLs on the 09 C5 can be turned on from the console - Vehicle Parameters, Lighting . It enables the lights under the headlights alright.
