Difference between sunflower roil and vegetable oil?

Post by Napoleon »

Given that I have just bought several sea-going tankers of sunflower oil, is this the same as the 'vegetable oil' I have been happily running Xantia on these last few weeks?

Sunflower is slightly thinner, and will smell a bit different when burnt.
Tends to cost a bit more in the supermarkets so I rarely use it myself.
Back when 3L was 83p in tescos, corn oil was the last to be hiked up in price and apparently that makes your exhaust smell of popcorn :)

Got you.

I just looked at the receipts.

The sunflower was £2.95 for three litres while the 'vegetable' oil was £2.53 for three litres.

However, both were BOGOF, so I've done ok, either way.

I was concerned that I'd bought loads of something I couldn't use.
