veg oil cheap at Tesco's

Does everyone know Tesco's are selling veg oil 3 lt bottles buy one get one free.works out at around 50p a lt.

Thanks for the heads up, they were discounted recently (can't remember the exact deal now), then Asda followed suit so I guess this is Tesco's response. Bring it on!

EDIT: Just ordered 108litres (mixed veg and sunflower) for £44.50 delivered

I use to buy the 3ltr veg oil in my local tesco as it use to be a little cheaper than diesel,but then they limited a maximum of 3 per customer and raised the price to €5 something which works out dearer than diesel

I went down at 7-40am this morning and got 36 bottles,But iv'e just ordered 40 online and used this code for £10 off first time customers XXMEDIA it worked for me.So even with delivery it works out cheaper than going to a store,About 40p a lt.

Buying up all this cooking oil to run your cars will cause such a shortage the nation as a whole will have to give up fried food...

Hi Jim,

I have a sneaking suspicion that due to their greedy policy of inflating the price by over 50% that someone, somewhere has a stockpile of surplus oil build up over the last year due to reduced sales and it's now causing constipation problems.

If, like before, they ration us oil burners then I obviously guessed wrong. Time will tell.

Don't forget lads, if you find someone querying why you're buying so much, repeat what someone else once said and tell them your fat kids love to drink it and you're hosting a birthday party for your 6 year old. Their reactions can be very amusing.

Just had a call from Tesco's saying they have none left and have had to cancel my order.

That doesn't surprise me - I'm half expecting the same. My delivery isn't booked until Tuesday. If they wait until then to pick my order, I can't see them having any left.

Did they say if they'd be getting more in or is that there quota gone for the entire offer period?

UPDATE:

Tesco have released an information bulletin that says they expect some customers will be placing large orders. For whatever reason, they will cancel them.

I'm now trying to see if I can get mine reserved as they won't even look at my order until the day it's booked for delivery - assuming they've still got it in stock.

The guy who rang me said they are only getting 20 more bottles tonight and thats there lot.So i'll have a run down in the morning early.Glad i went down the first day now at least i have 36 bottles to be going on with.

Nor in a 2.1TD either Ken unless it has a mechanical Bosch pump on it.

VEG + EPIC = DISASTER...
