95 Xantia, high temp/STOP! light flicker, erratic fans

Post by skog77 »

Hello,

i've noticed sometimes when im driving that the red warning light next to the temparature gage flickers along with the STOP! light even if the temparature is normal. Also, the fans go on full blast, just to die down again right away.

Could this be a faulty sensor somewhere maybe?

I had this on my old 405 1.9td, it was a broken wire to the sensors in the thurmostat housing, if I moved the wires about the fans would cut in and out. I cut the wireing back and replaced it which sorted it out.

I have two XMs that do this - have done since I had them, I just ignore it.
