ZX Cuts out when cornering

Does anyone know what would cause my ZX14i to cut out when cornering only to restart when back in a straight line, any help would be appreciated

Sounds familiar. If your car is fitted with a distributor then it may be the vacuum operated advance regulator that is faulty. Renewing that part helped when my car suffered from exactly the same you describe.

Yes, but it can be replaced independently. Just follow a vacuum pipe coming from the inlet manifold and see if there is a something that looks like a diaphragm casing at the other end. There may be a solenoid fitted in-line somewhere.
