Genuine Citroen Roof Bars Question.

Unread post by logiclee »

Hi All

Does anyone know if the genuine Citroen alloy roof bars have the same locking type channel as the Thule Aero bars.

I have two Barracuda bike carriers that have square feet that sit in the roof bar channel and lock down. These work fine with Thule Aero bars and genuine Ford alloy bars but can't tell from the photo's if they will fit the Citroen bars.

Cheers

i dont realy know the answer to your question, but i presume this is an estate you have,

im not 100% sure what your asking, can you clarify please,

i do own genuine roof bars for an estate and the cross tube's have flat top and bottom's, with rounded front and rear's

if that helps

It's down to

a) whether the bar end clamps will match the C5's fat roof bars and
b) if you're trying to mix and match, whether the Thule cross bars are the same dimensions as the bars you're trying to use.

I can't help as I had to significantly modify (with a 1-1/2lb ball-pein hammer) the Halfords non-C5 roof bar clamps that I bought off Ebay.

If you mean the Xantia estate roof rails, they are what Thule call a T-track.

I had a set of Thule feet for mine, you need the correct rubber adapter though.

Sorry for the confusion guys, I only picked my C5 saloon up yesterday so I've been busy playing.

I intend to buy a set of Genuine Citroen Roof Bars for the C5.

My cycle carriers have square feet that slide inside a channel on the Thule type Aero bars or the Ford alloy bars. The cycle carriers do not clamp around the entire roof bar but the feet clamp in a channel. That's the best way I can describe it.

I can't see from the website photo's whether the Citroen bars have the channel or not.

This is a photo of the thule bar and you can see the bar isn't solid as the middle has the channel to clamp carriers and boxes into.

And just to add...

The Citroen bars look alot better fit and are cheaper than thule which is why I'm wanting to go with the Citroen bars.

Found a cross section photo so you can see the top track.

Anyone know if the Citroen bars have this?
