Xantia - Above the glovebox

Unread post by Quackers »

I want to check my Trafficmaster is connected properly, and i see posts saying its above the glovebox. How do i get there? Not had a look at my Xantia yet, but its not an area i have been before.

Trafficmaster has worked on my car in the past, but i have not renewed the licence for a long time, should have expired ages ago, but it does not say it has expired, light never goes red or green, and i am always on motorways or dual carageways. It just says "Trafficmaster" if i press the button.

I can get her to say "Manual Mode" "Automatic Mode" "Volume Mode" or "Traffic Master"

When what i want is, " You are traveling southbound on the M6 between junction 15 and 16, heavy traffic AVOID"

TMaster tells us a S2 car..

Ok, theres a good number of screws holding it in place.. Open the lid, behind the top rubber bumps are T20 screws, and down the side, then under the fabric in the main box in the left and middle lower edge are two more screws - peel back the fabric to reveal them...

I think theres also another on the right side behind the fabric..

Then give it a wriggle...

Once out the Body computer, Locking reciver, and TM box's are stacked above the heater unit - you may even need to remove the upper air bag.. this is held in place be an array of 8mm nuts along a bar... it then lifts out

Are the passenger airbag covers held in by sacrificial plastic clips to the front, and a length of nylon webbing to the rear?

On some cars, the sacrificial clips are cheap, and faster access to the stuff above the glovebox is achieved by pulling off the airbag cover.

Nope!

One of the few Citroen things that are held well in place!

Two thin metal bar strips behind the bag along the top and bottom edges with an array of 8mm bolts holding it in place.. Only viewable and accessable after glove box removal.
