Help with Sphere Table

Unread post by Old-Guy »

GSF's old Sphere table is now of limited value since they changed their part numbering system. With Vince's help I've finally compiled an updated version as an Excel file for the moment but it could do with being looked at by people more expert than me.
Feedback desperately needed please.

I can't work out the difference between 453PC0210 (N45332) and 453PC0211 (N45332A), and "I know nuuthing" about Hydractive or Activa systems.
2012 Subaru Forester - capable but no magic carpet
2011 Grand C4 Picasso VTR+ 1.6HDi - not missed!
1995 Xantia Estate SX 1.9TD in Vert Vega "The Green Lady" - sadly missed
1998 Xantia 2.1 VXD Estate in Mauritius Blue - R.I.P. (terminal tin-worm)

Good work Guy :D

453PC0210 is an Amtex (pattern) Non-Hydractive front for most applications.

453PC0211 is the same but genuine Citroen...

That's according to the GSF website. Funny the genuine one is 50p cheaper :?

The Activa ones listed are correct. Note that they don't stock the complete Activa set. No matter as everywhere you can get away with ordinary hydractive spheres except the Activa accumulator. That one is the same style as an anti-sink sphere but blown up to 62 bars. In emergency an anti-sink will do.

Pleiades will adjust one for this duty.

Thanks for that Jim, but I'm left wondering how you got that data from the GSF website as it was the first place I checked?

For the sake of completeness, do you happen to have the Citroën part no for 453PC0211 please?

I'll update the file, add your Activa notes, and publish it as a PDF tomorrow evening if I get a chance.

Chances are the genuine citroen ones are cheaper because they are to be dropped from range so they are selling them off cheaper.

I was unaware of the price difference.....will have to check this out for myself :P I need a full set of rears

Vince if they are doing that could you let us all know which part numbers and prices they are and how many possibly left in stock as i think some of us would maybe deplete their stock for them :)

HDi exclusive front spheres

Unread post by Edhertz »

Hello Guy thanks for presenting your list of spheres and equivalents. The spheres on the front of my 199 2.0 HDi exclusive have the following Citroen number : 96238949 with 9-179 under that followed by FM. This number does not appear on your list. Are these specials that can only be obtained from the dealer or is there a GSF equivalent?
Cheers in advance

That's a standard Hydractive front strut sphere, manufactured on the 179th day of 1999.

Front balls

Thanks addo for reply. Looks like these have been on since manufacture. The've done 134K in 11years and not suprisingly show signs of hardening up so looks like time for a change change.
