Seat Belt light coming on and off

The C5 seat bely light keeps flashin on and off. It's as irritating as hell. I assume it's a lose connection which is at the belt engagement end. HOw can a layman remedy this? Thought about cutting wire.

Well im guessing there is a switch in the seatbelt catch unit, you could have a look to see if it will come apart and check that the switch is working.
Either that or just bypass the switch, DONT FORGET TO PUT YOUR BELT ON IF YOU DO BYPASS IT.

Is there any grease/dirt on the metal clip which might be affecting a contact? You could also try spraying an electrical contact cleaner into the catch unit. Other than that I have no suggestions

Does it still do it if there is a (belted) passenger? It could be a problem with the sensor in the passenger seat.
