My Cars:

for the diagnostic experts

Post by colinxm »

Hi all, I've just replaced the head gasket on my wife's pug 307 1.6 petrol. While doing this I also cleaned up the inside of the throttle housing using brake cleaner (bad move ?) problem is that after reassembly the car now runs like a pig with the car saying that there is an anti-pollution problem. I've put my super cheapo OBD11 fault code reader on it and have got the fault code: 123 (throttle position sensor/switch A circuit high input). I thought that maybe some of the brake cleaner had managed to get into the electronics but couldn't find anything visably amiss after opening up the unit while the multiplug contacts seem as good as new.
Anyone come across this kind of problem before or have any ideas ?
