hi all. decided I need to LPG the V6, and add roof bars and possibly a tow bar
would anyone fancy helping me remove an lpg system from another coupe for a few hours... north midlands area
probably next sat/sun or the one after , or the one after that... .. dont think it would take long with two working away.. just want to get all I can..

hi Jim. yep it's Ade's place.. I dont think he's around, but we should be able to access the car and remove the torridal tank, pipes, vapouriser, manifold, and switch and wires from inside car.. I will find out more about the system this week I think..
I may ask him if he has a blue coupe rear bumper too, as mine has been cracked.. no big deal though..

well a huge thankyou to Jim and Toby for helping out yesterday.. to say I needed both of them was an understatement!
We arrived in Chesterfield at about 2 30 and finished just after 5.. A coupe bumper, some other coupe parts, and a well plumbed in LPG system were all carefully removed and transfered to my boot.. I think fitting the LPG will be quite a challenge all told.. vapouriser location was stuck well down by the front wheel, the Kehin gas injectors fouled the bonnet soundproofing, the wiring is a bit of a spaghetti incident
will post a pic later..
I dont even know if the system will always be on and switch back to petrol or whether it's user controlled.. the only switch in the car was a 2-way rocker with two wires.. it will start to make more sense as the wiring in reproduced on my car (I have the whole engine loom and I am still not sure if I should just swap looms)
anyway, thanks guys, a great team hope you got back ok Toby, I was 11.15 after some good a-roads to finish off

John,
It was a pleasure, a great day out Sorry you had to suffer a bit of my singing but I reckon you now know just how much I enjoy tearing scrap cars apart That LPG installation was overall, very well plumbed-in.
I still shudder when I recall what was in the boot. Good job we had rubber gloves By way of explanation, there were items that might have been, erm, drug "paraphernalia"
One thing to watch is where the vapouriser was mounted. I'm not so sure there is so much space in that location when an autobox is fitted. You may have to search out a new location for it as it was a bit tight even with a manual 'box.
Toby, it's a shame your prospective new employer could not have been there to see you in action. If he had, the job would be yours for sure... All the best on that front for tomorrow
