Tailgate Lock Solinoids

Unread post by citroenxm »

Hi.. In relation to the Other post about Tailgate locks..

Does anyone know how to open the boot soliniods, I have the same problem with XM boot lock, certainly on an Estate I ve sold..

Be interesting to see why the locks seems to "Jump" open rather then locking and unlocking the boot lock..

The solinoid "Jump" when you lock it too, so the boot never locks..

Cheers

Hi Paul, I just replied in other thread about this. We were typing at the same time :)

I have opened it simply by using "brutal force" after I got the replacement part and made sure that it's working.
It's heat (ultrasonic I guess) welded and here's a pic showing parts in it:

It is not meant to be opened or in order words it is very challenging to put two covers together.
