Climate control blowing hot whatever the temp

Unread post by dennis9112 »

Hi, i have a 04 1.5dci which i have owned since new,my air con and climate control have been working fine up untill yesterday when i went from 21c to 16min were my AC kicked in only for it to blow hot air all the time ,i have tried all the settings and the fan works with the correct speeds i can now only get hot air. I had a motor reducer/mixer fitted 11months ago to solve a simalar problem so i am thinking it might not be that but a sticking flap , i have a new pollen filter fitted and i have cleaned the internal temp sensor could anyone please help. Thanks

I know nothing about these, however from your description its probably going to come down to one of two things:

1. (Assuming the hot / cold mix is just a flap, quite likely) the motor controlling it is acting up or some of the flap mechanism is broken or over-stepped (gone past its stop as it were) , hence that noise, the 'going past its stop' is more likely.

2. (If its an actual mechanical water valve, highly unlikely) the motor controlling the cable is seizing

ABS and SERV light on were down to grease coming out of the cv boot end as the metal clip had come off and was all over the inside wheel and the sensor that goes into the caliper ,the ring was also full of grease, i purchased a small syringe from the chemist and filled wiith grease and got it inside the goot and squirted it in , cleaned ring and sensor and all was ok,the climate control as now decided to work so for the moment all is ok .
