Xantia Exclusive headlamp washer leak !!

Post by HDI »

The headlamp washer system has sprung a leak on my Xantia !!
It's in the middle low down under the grill area. I haven't had time to investigate yet but does anyone know the layout for the tube that presumably connects the two washer jet assemblies together across the front of the car ?. I was thinking there might be a plastic quick connector somewhere thats become detached ?
Now using '00 Xantia LX HDI, pov spec :(

It's a big tube like a small garden hose. It runs from the big pump in the washer bottle to the RH spray head and is then teed from there over to the LH spray head and gets to the head via an elbow joint. The hose runs through the bumper.

It'll be a bumper off job. There is a quick-release connector in the hose in the vicinity of the pump to ease the task.

hard to see how the pipe has become damaged though as it's a reinforced hose. I expect one of the tee or elbow joints is leaking and the water is running along the outside of the hose until it encounters a low spot.

Beyond the quick release connector the hose is held in place by metal spring clips, the leak may well be down to the very brittle "Y" joint breaking up.

If theres one job I really hate on Xantia's it's removing the bumper !!
It's quite a leak , sprays almost directly down to the ground somewhere in the middle.
