Hi, I recently had to lower the back seats in my Xantia only to find under the passenger side the floor was soaking.
Could this be the door seal? Ive had a look at it and it looks alright?
or are there any known problems that can cause water to get under the seat. The floors solid.
If it's the seal, does anyone know where to get a Xantia door seal, I've looked about the web but can only find universal seals and ones where you need to know the exact size and what kind of seal is on your car,I'd rather just buy a Xantia door seal that'll fit with no messing about with it.
Thanks,
Fangy.

95 Xantia, it would then have a sunroof!
Two areas to look at..
One: The Sunroof drain pipes come out ABOVE the wheel in the TOP of the wheel arch, firstly check to see if they are blocked up with crap from the wheels, put the car up on top suspension setting, locate them under the crap, at the very top, give them a poke then pour some water carefully down the roof drains... of a blast with an air line if you can access one.
2nd: apparently the seals on the rear tail Car mounted, not boot mounted, Lamps can leak water past... Is the boot carpet wet? This would help confirm this..
My bets would be a block sunroof drain pipe in the rear passenger wheel arch...
Good luck

As Paul says with the sunroof. If you find the pipes Ok you may find the gutter gargoyles have parted company with the gutter. The sunroof is designed to leak and for all water to be collected by the gutters and channeled into the drain pipes. The gargoyles are the plastic moldings on the ends of the gutters where the pipes join. If this is the source of the leak, may find tell-tale dampness and drips in the vicinity of the rear grab handles. The headlining is pretty impermeable though so it might just funnel the water straight down the C pillar.
Here's a picture of the sunroof gutters and a gargoyle:

You need to have the headlining down to get at them. If one or the other has parted company, clean up, apply a bed of mastic to the gargoyle where it sits in the gutter and press the gargoyle into it. Finally secure it with a cable tie.
If yours has the Citroen accessory high-level stop light in the rear window, check its wiring. If the wires are jammed under the tailgate seal and feed through the concertina carrying the other cables, this too can funnel water in very effectively to enable it to run down the C pillar and pool in the seat wells.

Thanks for the replies.
Had another quick look and yes, the boot is also wet on the near side, did you mean it could be the boot seal on the car body?
I just recently fitted new,(used), tail lights. If the seal was dodgy on this, would it let in sooo much water, cause we're talking puddles you could take a paddle in.
Would appreciate your thoughts on this,
Fangy

Could do, remove the light cluster and give the seal and the mating surface a good clean up

Also recently when the snow was about deep and crisp not so even. I noticed on the tailgate that the design of the rear screen rubber is such that water can sit there at the bottom where the lip is. Now if said water turns to ice, or if snow is sitting there and does the same it can then lift, and distort the rubber. Which could also even when the ice has gone, and the snow has melted still leave a potential leak I.E. tiny hole.
