Cooling system queries

Unread post by KP »

Just wondering if anyone, anywhere has come across silicone hose's for the xantia. be it cooling system or air inlet system?

Also does anyone know if a lower temp thermostat is available or is it a case of knocking the guts out of the current one and fitting an inhose stat thats a lower temp?

Hi Will,

No idea on the silicone hoses but plenty of companies will make bespoke ones. Have a look in Practical performance Car, always loads of adverts for them.

The thermostat in the CT should be an 83 degree one. These are available although you'll need to go to a factor and check his parts catalogues carefully. Usually they'll offer the standard 89 degree one by default.

It makes a differeence running the cooler 'stat.

Cheers Jim.

Do GSF do the lower temp stat?

I'll have to see about the PPC silicone stuff. Ideally i want the top rad hose and the heatermatrix hose's though i am betting the latter will be the harder one due to its plastic connections...
