Lorry pushing a Clio -sideways
Just seen this on the Beeb's website. Amazing that no-one was killed.

Apparently the lorry driver couldn't see the Clio, this may be so but what I want to know is how the Clio got there in the first the place. Surely the lorry driver would have realised that he had just hit something?

Very odd that, i dont know how the driver wouldnt have known.
No doubt a classic case of a lorry pulling into the side of a passing car (did anyone catch the fifthgear years ago where they tried this and it wrapped the car round the front of the truck? Its on youtube). Though how the driver didnt notice it was there.
Im amased the CLio still had tyres on it, you would have thought they would have popped quite quickly.

More likely the car trying to nip out in front of the truck and clipping it.Citroenmad wrote:

I think that's only thanks to the wet road, probably had those nasty energysaver tyres on as well.Im amased the CLio still had tyres on it, you would have thought they would have popped quite quickly.
Truck will have been on the cruise control and it's obviously empty so wouldn't have noticed the extra resistance. Tucked up that close in the streaming rain I think you can excuse him for not seeing it. And with the state of the roads these days what's one more jolt?
The thoughts of the driver...............
"I think I will have a word with him indoors, and get a chassis alignment test done, as he used my car the other day, and this is the worst case of crabbing I have ever experienced, my mini was not this bad even though the subframe was needing attention!"

Seriously though, that's a terrifying sight, I read about it on Sky News, the driver in the Clio definetly thought she was going to die - so would I.
Bet she's grateful for Renault's safety record
Pleased to hear she's OK.
Well at least the bonnet stayed shut during this trucking encounter!

I saw another car wedged in the front of a lorry on the M25 J13 a couple of days after that, although it looked like the car was at fault.ACTIVE8 wrote:Here's B and Q getting too close to their customers!
