Berlingo 1.9 diesel dw8 engine Timing belt change.

Hi i want to change the timing belt on my berlingo 1.9 diesel dw8 engine year of reg is 2004. Would anybody be able to give me some advice and pictures on how to change the timing belt please. I`ve change them on my old 306 diesel and escort diesels but i`ve never changed a timing belt on something as new as this berlingo please help.

Hi and welcome

If you have carried out a timing belt change on a 306 Diesel then the process to do the job on the DW8 is very near identical. The DW8 is only a thinly disguised XUD engine after all. The instructions applicable to any XUD engine in respect to timing belt changes holds good for the DW8.

Replace the water pump at the same time. They have a nasty habit of failing soon after if you don't....

You know, this is such an oft-asked question, we need a guide to doing this job...
